Given the sheer amount of Korean beauty products launching every month, it’s hard to keep up with what’s new in K-Beauty. To help you navigate the complex world of Korean Beauty, every week I break down the hottest beauty launches coming from Korea.
Unlike with my monthly posts on K-Beauty bestsellers, you won’t find any link to purchase these products as they just became available in Korea.
But without further ado, here are the latest Korean skincare offerings of the week! Don’t forget to check out this week’s make-up launches as well.
Dr. G – Expert Cure:Mmun Repair Cream
The combination of increased mask-wearing and seasonal changes, led dermacosmetic brand Dr. G to develop the ultimate soothing skincare formula. The new “Expert Cure:Mmun Repair Cream” is highly-concentrated product that promises to relieve skin irritated from external aggressors, as well as strengthen the skin’s natural defenses.
The star ingredient of the cream is 5-Cica complex, a soothing powerhouse that combines 5 ingredients derived from Centella Asiatica: Madecassoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid and Centella Asiatica Extract.
On top of that, Dr. G also encapsulated these active ingredients to preserve their soothing powers. Independent clinical studies conducted by the KC Skin Research Centre, show that the “Expert Cure:Mmun Repair Cream” calms irritated skin within 5 seconds of application.
Tonymoly – Wonder Ceramide Mochi Emulsion
After the incredible success of their “Wonder Ceramide Mochi Toner” (as you might remember from the results of the mid-year Glowpick Awards 2020), Tonymoly is looking to build on the hype by adding a new product to the Wonder Ceramide line; like the popular toner, the new “Wonder Ceramide Mochi Emulsion” contains 5,000 ppb of Ceramide and 3 different molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid. Thanks to its creamy formula and silky feel, this emulsion is a great product to combat dry skin between seasons.
Deepondé (new brand launch)
A couple of weeks ago, I told you about a new super-hyped brand called “Fossula”. This week, VU’OR, the innovative beauty start-up behind Fossula, launched Deepondé, a premium skincare brand that specialises in skin barrier care. All these launches coincide with the opening of LU42, a high-end department store located in the Myeongdong area in Seoul.
The philosophy of the Deepondé is simple – to awaken every person’s inherent desire for beauty. The company believes that through their effective and carefully-crafted products, their clients can discover how to nurture their natural beauty.
These principles are certainly reflected in “Deephydra B5”, Deepondé’s first product line. All products in this line are designed to restore and strengthen the skin’s protective barrier and they feature Panthenol (Vitamin B5) and 8 molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid. The line is composed as follows:
Labelyoung – Shocking Melting Cleanser
The “Shocking Melting Cleanser” by Labelyoung is a gentle cleanser designed to unclog pores and prevent breakouts. The secret behind this product is “Black Vinegar”, a compound created by fermenting together black rice and vinegar for 72 hours. The ingredient is a natural source of Black Acetic Acid, a peeling agent that works by breaking down the connections between skin cells.
The “Shocking Melting Cleanser” features a gel-to-foam formula with a mildly acidic pH that washes away excessive sebum and impurities, without stripping moisture.
