Video: Korean Acne Skin Care Treatment from 400 Years Ago
What’s the most ancient Korean acne skin care treatment we know of? Well, brace yourself because in this video I’m going to bring you back to the early days of the Joseon dynasty to discover how ancient Koreans dealt with acne and other forms of skin irritation.
Houttuynia Cordata, or Heart Leaf, is mentioned as an effective acne skin care treatment in many historical medical texts from all over Asia and it’s now making a major comeback in Korean Beauty. Why? Because of its fantastic medical properties that allow users to treat different aspects of skin irritation at the same time.
This video was partly inspired by ‘초상화, 그려진 선비정신’, a book where a Korean dermatologist analyses portraits from the Joseon dynasty to look for signs of skin conditions. If you can read Korean, I strongly recommend to check it out.
