New Korean skincare products [September – Week 2]
Given the sheer amount of Korean beauty products launching every month, it’s hard to keep up with what’s new in K-Beauty. To help you navigate the complex world of Korean Beauty, every week I break down the hottest beauty launches coming from Korea.
Unlike with my monthly posts on K-Beauty bestsellers, you won’t find any link to purchase these products as they just became available in Korea.
But without further ado, here are the latest Korean skincare offerings of the week! Don’t forget to check out this week’s make-up launches as well.
Missha – Time Revolution Primestem 100 line

Missha announced the launch of “Time Revolution Primestem 100“.
With over 90 million cumulative sales, including iconic products like the Night Repair Ampoule and the First Treatment Essence, “Time Revolution” is Missha’s representative highly-functional anti-aging franchise.
The new “Primestem 100” is a firming and lifting skincare line formulated using Missha’s exclusive 3X Lifting technology to target advanced signs of aging. 1 million stem active ingredients derived from Angelica Archangelica Callus Extract stimulate production of collagen and elastin, essential components of the skin, making skin more dense and elastic.
The line consists of 3 products: “Time Revolution Primestem 100 Lifting Serum“, “Time Revolution Primestem 100 Cream” and “Time Revolution Primestem 100 Eye Cream” for a complete lifting treatment.
In particular, the “Time Revolution Primestem 100 Lifting Serum” boasts an intense firming effect thanks to 2 million stem active ingredients, twice the amount of the other products in the line. Clinical trials performed by the Global Medical Research Center confirmed an increased production of elastin and collagen by 354% and 153%, respectively.

Hanyul – Geuk Jin line [renewal]

Hanyul announced the relaunch of their “Geuk Jin” range, a skincare line containing a whole Korean ginseng plant.
Hanyul’s “Geuk Jin” is a premium anti-aging line formulated using ginseng as the main ingredient and it’s been a steady bestseller since its launch in 2008.
Compared to the previous formulation, the new Geuk Jin line was improved by combining fermented ginseng, the main ingredient of the line, with “Raw Ginseng Capsule™”, an ingredient developed using Hanyul’s exclusive technology. The new line contains 60 times the amount of ginseng of the previous formulation, providing an even more intense firming effect.
Hanyul’s exclusive “Raw Ginseng Capsule™” contains 100% pure ginseng without artificial additives. It was made using the rare and precious Korean ginseng plant in its entirety, and includes 26 types of saponins, amino acids and polysaccharides. This allows the new Geuk Jin line to deliver the natural power and precious components of the ginseng plant into the skin.
The new Geuk Jin line comes in a packaging inspired by Bangjja Yugi, traditional Korean handmade bronzeware historically used as tableware by the royal families. It was also formulated using the scent of ginseng flowers that gently infuses the skin.

The History of Whoo – Bichup Self-Generating Anti-Aging Concentrate Special Edition 2021

LG Household & Health Care announced the launch of the “Bichup Jasaeng Self-Generating Anti-Aging Concentrate Special Edition 2021” from The History of Whoo, a limited edition designed in special collaboration with French artist Pierre Marie and inspired by the elegance of the royal palace.
Pierre Marie is a renowned artist with a vast experience working with luxury fashion brands, including crafting countless scarf patters for Hermés. He’s known for recreating complex subjects by hand with precise detail and for this collaboration with History of Whoo, he reinterpreted the royal palace and its architectural elements following his style, creating a stunning and colorful artwork. In particular, the packaging was designed reintepreting the beautiful and colourful elements of the royal palace, including Dancheong (Korean traditional colourful patterns used to decorate wooden buildings and artifacts) and Kkot-Dam (Korean Traditional Flowered-Wall Motives).
The “Bichup Jasaeng Self-Generating Anti-Aging Concentrate” has been a steady best-seller for a long time, ranking first in the anti-aging essence category for over 10 years (source: Kantar Consumer Panel 2011-2020).
